This is a stem and leaf plot. The number in the "stem" is in the "ten's place," and the leaf, is all the data numbers that fall within that stem. Looking at the plot above... the stem 12 has associated "leaf's:" 1,2, and 4. This is just a simple way of saying 121, 122, and 124.
